My sister has a 36 foot modern boat moored at Wargrave, just up River Thames from Henley, the boat sleeps 6 comfortably. Along that particular stretch of the Thames on a summers day must take some beating. I'm fully aware it's probably county Berkshire but that part of the very ends of the suburbs of London takes some beating. Loads of celebrity types live along The Thames including our very own?Russell Brand. Proper socialist him ain't he? Henley upon Thames resident.A real left winger type. Two faced unfunny cunt.

Yes, I hate heights, but bridges are generally ok because you're enclosed in. Try the fucking Amalfi coast road if you want to shit yourself.

I've got a bit of the old vertigo.
My sphincter goes when I'm going up Dartford bridge.
I'd probably have a heart attack going over that thing.

I’ve driven over the Millau viaduct about 20 times , I still get the intake of breath when you round the last bend and see the white supports the first time.

Re floating bridges
Millau Viaduct is the one, designed with the local climate in mind so the bugger floats on clouds, it's beyond description in real life viewing
I pulled off at the next exit and went beneath to look up - because I could and wanted to see both aspects
Outrageous design meets art and staggers a heathen situation

I’ve had a similar experience looking down onto the fog beneath Clifton suspension bridge in the earlier hours of the morning, breathtaking

Nurse
My maternal grandmother came from the fens - March Loved her blindly and she took me there as a real toddler and beyond to meet her family Fair to say that it was a tad different from East Ham, 'That London' I believe was the phrase Veg 'shopping' was conducted by yoots scrumping the fields, which were flat as a witches I recall the train journey vividly, Ely cathedral rose like a beacon, ethereally in the mist after flooded fields Villages and associated idiots were seperated by drainage dykes, rivallry with local neighbours beyond the ditch were alien to me, akin to modern day post code gangs Another world borne of centuries of happy isolation and insularity Boston by contrast is a modern manifestation without the inherent banjo charm, a truly revolting place

I worked in Sheffield in the early 80's for 18 months, stayed at the Grosvenor which was a top hotel at the time. Sheffield back then had coal mining, steelworks and two Breweries right in town. Was a fantastic place and have great memories.
I went back 10 year ago. All the industry had gone, Meadowhall had been built which resulted in City centre shops gone, the place was a Shithole. I stayed in the Grosvenor and felt like Johnny from the shining, the place was full of DHSS and to top it all my car got done in the car park
Best and worst

Cambridge the city is alright. Lots of nice aspects, such as sharing the park with cows and that bloke who dresses like Santa. I like Fitzbilly's, too. Those buns are EPIC.
But it's populated by utter planks.

Used to work in Ely." Nice", true, but lived in Cambridge. Bit livelier. I'd move back to Cambridge even now.
Why isn't Salisbury on this list? Russians fly miles just for its cathedral spire.
